The Bay Area TB Science (BATS) Symposium will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 9am-4:30pm, on the UCSF Mission Bay campus, focusing on local researchers sharing their work and allow for networking opportunities along with talks, posters, catered lunch, and a panel discussion. 

The event will be hosted by the Center for Tuberculosis at UCSF, with partners from UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and Stanford University participating in the event’s planning committee.

Dr. Susan Dorman, Keynote Speaker

We are honored to have Dr. Susan Dorman serve as the 2026 Keynote Speaker. Dr. Dorman is a Professor of Medicine and Faculty Director of the Center for Global Health at the Medical University of South Carolina, and Tuberculosis Medical Consultant to the South Carolina Department of Health. She is an infectious disease physician who has studied tuberculosis and provided tuberculosis clinical care for 25 years.  Her team’s research focuses on development and assessment of new diagnostic and treatment strategies for tuberculosis.
