FAST-TB

Facilitating Accelerated Science and Translation for TB Regimen Development (FASTTB) is a global platform that brings together scientists, clinical-trial networks, public-health stakeholders, funders, and industry partners to accelerate the development and uptake of shorter, safer, and more effective tuberculosis (TB) treatment regimens. 

Scientifically led by the UCSF Center for Tuberculosis in partnership with CRDF Global, FAST‑TB connects and complements existing TB research networks, national TB programs, regulators, and other stakeholders. The platform creates shared resources to reduce duplication, strengthen decision-making, and speed translation of promising TB regimens into practice. FAST‑TB is supported by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (R24AI200705). 

Scientific Leadership 

UCSF Principal Investigators Payam Nahid, MD, MPH, and Rada Savic, PhD, provide scientific leadership for FAST‑TB alongside Program Director Christian Lienhardt, MD, PhD, CRDF Global, and an international network of partners.

Together, the tracks deliver governed knowledge-sharing mechanisms, consensus standards, modeling tools, and implementation resources for the global TB field.
