Pilot Awards (Resource Allocation Program)
The Mentored Scientist Award in TB Research and Team Science is funded by UC TRAC (NIAID P30AI168440) and TB RAMP (NIAID R25AI147375). Pilot awards fund Early Stage Investigators at UCSF or UC Berkeley pursuing TB-focused research, from bench and clinical work to epidemiology, diagnostics, implementation science, and health disparities. Awardees work under a faculty research mentor and are automatically enrolled into the Center's TB Research And Mentorship Program (TB RAMP) as they launch their independent research careers. Accelerator Awards
Accelerator Awards in Basic Science are funded by UC TRAC (NIAID P30AI168440) and solicited on a rolling basis for new-to-TB researchers at UCSF and UC Berkeley. Accelerator Awards are dispersed as salary support for BSL-3 trained personnel who will perform the necessary experiments of the awardee, and serves as a voucher to support short-term (4-12 week) pilot projects that provide proof-of-principle data that would permit successful applications for further funding.
