Adithya Cattamanchi, with R2D2 TB Network & SMART4TB consortium, recently published a multi-country TB diagnostics study in the New England Journal of Medicine.
The MiniDock MTB test - evaluated across 7 countries and 1,380 participants through the R2D2 TB and ADAPT-TB - met WHO accuracy targets for near-point-of-care TB detection using both sputum and tongue swabs, and outperformed sputum-smear microscopy by more than 24 percentage points. This is a significant step toward closing the gap between estimated and notified TB cases worldwide.
